Program of Study

Athletic Training student trained by two instructors

Instructors work closely with Athletic Training students

The MAT Program has been developed to create leaders in the field who are ready for clinical practice in the five domains of athletic training.

Admitted students are offered the opportunity to interact with high-quality teachers, researchers and clinicians throughout the coursework and clinical education rotations.

The Master of Athletic Training program is a full-time, cohort-based program. All students begin matriculation into graduate courses during the summer session and continuously complete courses in every academic session (Summer, Fall and Spring) for 24 months.

Requirements for the M.AT. Degree

Candidates for the M.A,T. degree must complete 59 semester hours of graduate work. A graduate grade-point average of 3.0 or better is required for graduation. In addition, all degree candidates must successfully complete the required athletic training curricular content as mandated by the accrediting body.
